#53
#53. read atleast 5 nonfiction books. I READ ONE so far, finished it today.
Book-"The privilege of youth" by David Pelzer.
A few years ago I read his 3 books about his life.
"A child called it"
"The lost boy"
"A man named Dave"
These books affected me in a big way and I have read them several times over the years. I was not aware there were more books by David Pelzer until a few days ago. I went straight to the book store and bought this one, started it right then and just now finished.
This book kind of filled in the blanks and was mostly about his teenage years and the few friends he did make. I would LOVE to shake his hand. I would love to just meet him for lunch and talk to him and tell him that I am so proud of all that he has overcome. I want to hug him. I just feel so much. Sorrow for the boy who was abused so severely. Anger for how his peers treated him. Pride for how he turned out. Disgust for his naysayers who think it didn't really happen.
It would be MY privilege to meet him. He spoke at NMU about 10 years ago and I was devastated as I was unable to go due to having to work. Maybe the opportunity will come again. I heard he was an exceptional motivational speaker. I need motivation in a big way right now.
